Celebrating

“Enjoyment of Spiritual Fruit”

in HOPE!

Enjoy Bulb 2God knows what we need to “Enjoy’ life.  This pleases Him, like any loving Father.  Our Creator wants us to live in light, not darkness.  He wants us to “enjoy” the Fruits of His Spirit.  When we “Hook-Up” and “Obey”, He begins to make changes in our lives.  These changes bring us HOPE.  They are IMAGES of our Father forming in our life, and the more we know Him, the more we become like Him.  These changes give us a witness.  Each fruit of the Spirit God develops in our life is attractive to those looking for HOPE.  Others can see these “fruits” that come when we become more like our Father.  These changes prepare us for spiritual battles.  In Paul’s letter to the Galatians, he summarizes 9 of these fruits of the Spirit that are to be reflected in our lives.  Reading the whole chapter helps us see that these fruits are given to us to help us be victors in spiritual warfare.

Jesus’ Message of HOPE –

“Spiritual Fruit”:

Galatians 5:16-26 NLT

Enjoy Living by the Spirit’s Power: 16-18:

16 “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.

Spiritual Warfare is Real:  19-21

19 “When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: a) sexual immorality, b) impurity, c) lustful pleasures, 20 d) idolatry, e) sorcery, f) hostility, g) quarreling, h) jealousy, i) outbursts of anger, j) selfish ambition, k) dissension, l) division, 21 m) envy, n) drunkenness, o) wild parties, and p) other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Spiritual Fruit: 22-23

22 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: a) love, b) joy, c) peace, d) patience, e) kindness, f) goodness, g) faithfulness, 23 h) gentleness, and i) self-control. There is no law against these things! [letters and emphasis mine]

How to Enjoy Fruits of the Spirit: 24-26

24 “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.”

The HOPE of Enjoying Spiritual Fruit:

Enjoy Living by the Spirit’s Power: 15-18

Paul reminds us to make good choices – to “Obey” His Spirit, and not Satan’s lies and impulses.  His Spirit gives us freedom to follow our good intentions and gives us freedom from the bondage sin.  Does the Holy Spirit guide you?

Spiritual Warfare is Real:  19-21

Depending on our choices, we will live two very different lives.  Sixteen plus fruits of following Satan’s spirit, or of not following God’s spirit, are listed.  While Satan tries to duplicate or claim God’s fruits as his own, he cannot hide his corrupt and destructive fruits.  Review Satan’s fruits:  a) sexual immorality, b) impurity, c) lustful pleasures, 20 d) idolatry, e) sorcery, f) hostility, g) quarreling, h) jealousy, i) outbursts of anger, j) selfish ambition, k) dissension, l) division, 21 m) envy, n) drunkenness, o) wild parties, and p) other sins.  Do you recognize them as signs of darkness in a person’s life?

Spiritual Fruit: 22-23

Look at this list of powerful and attractive character qualities!  Instead of destructive qualities, they are constructive – all helpful in building strong, healthy, and loving relationships.  Review God’s Fruits of His Spirit:  a) love, b) joy, c) peace, d) patience, e) kindness, f) goodness, g) faithfulness, 23 h) gentleness, and i) self-control.  These are only a few of them.  They are not given to us instantly, but are “produced” through discipline and obedience by the Holy Spirit. Do you recognize the “fruits” you are wanting to develop?

How to Enjoy Fruits of the Spirit:  24-26

Paul explains how Christ’s sinless death helps us put to death our impulses to sin.  When we “Hook-Up” to his love and forgiveness we can “Enjoy” this new relationship to the Father.  We are instructed to “Obey”, or “follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.”  It is a life-long process that gives us undeniable HOPE.  Are you following Him and experiencing the HOPE of Christmas?

What was Jesus'

"Christmas Message" of HOPE?

Good News!  "Each time he said, 'My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness' ..." 2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT

What is the

"Christmas is HOPE" Advent Message"?

Never Give Up!  "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for.  Keep on seeking, and you will find.   Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 NLT

Found

Each soul, so precious…

      Millions, billions of souls - each one priceless…

Each with value beyond measure;

      Each one carefully crafted, created, and born.

No two alike;

      Not one worthless;

All designed by the Father for His Glory…

Crowds, masses, throngs – they blur to the sight.

      So many to feed, so many to count - so many;

Too many to know, too many to care for – just too many;

      Yet, each one has a name!

Each one is sovereign!

      Souls all - One by one

Faces in the many; each one with a cry

      Each one designed to take on God’s image;

Each one lost;

      Each one needing to be found

How can you care so much?

      How can you touch so many?

How can you find them? - One by one

      How can the finite meet the infinite?

Except for Jesus…

None too sinful, none too lost, none too far away;

      You know where each one is!

You invite all creation to your table; to your family;

      To your presence – One by one.

I am “one” – You found me!

      Let me help you find others

Help them to find you – Awesome God!

      I am found;

There is a place for me.

      They can be found;

There is a place for all; One by one.

          . . . If they want to be found . . .
